Where shall this white elephant gift exchange thing be? Cookies are tempting but its dangerous to have that much cookie around lol. The white elephant should be a dinner type setting.

Just a suggestion, there is this really good and inexpensive ($20) Brazilian style restaurant in Tijuana where we could potentially have our dinner. Its about 10 minutes away from the border.

they have meat/chicken/shrimp/chorizo/caramel glazed pineapple served Brazilian-style on skewers and continuously taken to the table by a stream of friendly waiters. You get a card for every person in your group to place on the table. RED=Stop offering me more food. GREEN=Sure, I'd like more. There is also a buffet for fruit, salad, dessert, and sushi!

it is interesting and fun.

Very Happy

thats my suggestion, or we can just do it locally.

ps. i am not liable for any deaths or massacres (no, I am just kidding. Tijuana is one of the safest places you can be in. Unfortunately the media portrays it otherwise.) Suspect

Hey guys -
So did we want to do a holiday get together type thing and white elephant gift exchange?

I was thinking this Friday might be a good day to do it. I can open up my apartment, though it's not super huge, should fit all of us fine. I don't have a whole lot of seating, though, so if anybody else has a bigger place and wants to open up their space... Smile

We could do something potluck style, so it's cheap, to save us all some holiday money? :-D

I think it's an amazing idea to do something to celebrate,
in specific the Potluck Dinner and White Elephant gift
exchange for $5! (and maybe some norebang/karaoke after!)

It might be a bit short notice for some, but I'm available for
Friday Dec. 11 as Amanda suggested... or even better Sat. Dec. 12
since we have the neighborhood clean up on Sat. morning.
And as to the space: Thank you Amanda for offering! I think
it's a great way to save $$$ (Roberto I would love to be able
to go to TJ to the Brazilian Restaurant but it might
be hard to coordinate for all of us to carpool and cross over).

Also, Cynthia I'm so sorry but I won't be able to help with
the MAAC X-mas party on the 18th... I'm really disappointed
about that (I'm an excellent make-up artist and was truly
looking forward to it Sad) but I had to purchase my flight to
go back home on the 17th for it to be free! I apologize.

So as of now if the other service project takes place on the
19th then the only one that I would be able to participate
in is the Neighborhood Clean-up with El Cajon CDC this
upcoming Saturday.
