LISC AmeriCorps Service Project with YouthBuild
Friday May 14th 11-2pm
@ Comm 22 Site
Location:
22nd Street & Commercial, San Diego, CA 92113
You can park along Julian Avenue, Beardsley Street, or 22nd Street
For the service project on May 14th we will be working with MAAC Project to deliver the Mock Interview Panels that the YouthBuild students are required to do. YouthBuild participants will dress for interviews, then MAAC Project will break our group into panels broken up by the fields YouthBuild students are interested in (retail, construction, non-profit, etc) so that we can coach the students through interviewing.
AmeriCorps members will also present on LISC AmeriCorps as well as other service programs and develop a fun, multi-media, interactive presentation.
AmeriCorps members can bring tips, easy to read materials about do's and don't during job searches and interviews and conduct a "job interview fashion show" to demonstrate appropriate levels of dress for varying job industries.
Jana has also informed me that we have a budget of $140 that can ONLY be applied towards buying/making T-shirts if someone takes the LEAD on coordinating all aspects of the T-shirt production, from ordering, to coordinating when/where/how we'll make shirts, etc.
LISC AmeriCorps Would Supply:
AmeriCorps Presentation
Tips on do's and don'ts for job interviews/job hunting
Interview Dress fashion show
Potential leader from LISC management or board to welcome the group and recognize AmeriCorps Week
Pizzas
MAAC Project would supply:
"Scripts" or questions for AmeriCorps members to ask at each interview and break up the group by interview by industry type
Drinks
Venue and A/V equip for presentation.
